Our aims:
The aim of the group is to promote an interest in and understanding of birds
and their habitats and environment and to support the activities of the RSPB.
For a small annual subscription our members receive a programme leaflet for
the year and a quarterly newsletter reporting on our group's recent and
forthcoming activities.
We also participate in recruitment and
fundraising through various activities with the money going towards
conservation projects at our local nature reserves.
About us:
The Exeter RSPB Local Group is a friendly group of over 500 members who range
from the beginner to the experienced birdwatcher. We hold indoor
meetings each month with illustrated talks on a variety of topics
including birding, conservation and general natural history interest.
We also have outdoor
meetings at top birdwatching sites in Devon and Somerset every 2-3 weeks (plus some coach
trips further afield). Our members mostly live within 30 miles of Exeter but we welcome
you wherever you live.
Join us:
Everyone is welcome at our events, including visitors and non-members. Please
feel free to
turn up at one of our indoor or outdoor events. Indoor talks are £3 for Group
members and £4 for non Group members whilst outdoor field trips are free
(other than coach trips). Alternatively why not join us at one of our
‘Showing People Birds’ days at Bowling Green
Marsh reserve at Topsham.
