 'Wild Dorset' by Colin  Varndell

Colin has been photographing the landscape & wildlife for over 30 years. His evocative photographs are reproduced in books, magazines, calendars & in advertising worldwide. He has won many awards for his beautiful work.
All the pictures inthis presentation were taken during a 12 month period to give a 'snapshot' of the natural history & landscapes of Dorset in one calendar year. Subjects included are butterflies, dragonflies, birds, foxes, dormice, roe deer -- to name just a few!

'Turning Up The Volume - a History of RSPB Campaigns past, present & future'
by Peter Exley

In this illustrated talk Peter takes a look back at the earliest days of the RSPB as the new wildlife conservation movement slowly found its' feet, and then looks at the achievements that have been made up to the present day from stopping the feather trade to saving albatrosses, drawing on his own experience working with the Albatross Task Force.

A joint meeting with East Devon Birds
The speaker will be Mike Tyler, current chairman of DBWPS and he will be speaking on two subjects:
Firstly, as author of the book 'Birds of Devon' to be published later this summer, he will give an illustrated talk about the updated, complete avifauna of Devon.
Secondly, he will give a power point presentation on Bird ringing on the River Axe, he specialises in ringing waders & ducks.

'Birdwatching in Scandinavia'   by Terry Bond

Scandinavia is a vast region extending over 2000 miles from north to south, from frozen wastes in the Arctic to woods lakes and grasslands in the south. This talk incorporates some species from the north but will focus more on those encountered further south, where many birds are familiar to our own. Terry is well known for presenting his talks in a very interesting  and amusing style.
