Morning field trip for birds on the marshes, and estuary.

Meet at RSPB car park (SX953872) at 10.00am.

No toilets.

All day field meeting for grebes, auks, divers and winter migrants.

Morning field trip to see ducks and waders on the Exe estuary.

Meet at 9.00 am near Powderham church (SX 971844).  Please do not use the church car park.

A morning walk through a patch of countryside close to Exeter city centre.

Meet 10.00am at west (St Loye’s) end of Ludwell Lane, by traffic restriction signs (SX945914);  recommended access via Rifford Road or Burnthouse Lane.

No Toilets.

 

Steart

Saturday 17th January 2009

Full-day trip to Bridgwater Bay National Nature Reserve for waders on Steart flats and the Parrett estuary.

Meet 8.30 am at Clyst St Mary car park (SX972911) or 9.45 am at Wall Common beach car park  ST261543, where we will scan Steart flats before moving on to Steart (ST275459).

No toilets.

Bring and carry packed lunch.

 

Winter Wildfowl Spectacular at W. Sedgemoor

Saturday 7th February 2009

A guided moring visit to RSPB West Sedgemoor nature reserve. We should see ducks and waders in their thousands, including Wigeon ,Teal, Shoveler, Pintail, Lapwing and Golden Plover.  There will be an option to continue with an informal visit to another site on the Somerset levels in the afternoon. 

Must be pre-booked. Limited places available

Cost £1.50 per person. Please book through Richard Swinbank, at a group meeting or by post.
