Sunday 21st
September 2008
Sunday was a beautiful day, with a
good lot of people on the coach trip to
We had dinner by a quarry where a
Little Owl happily sat and watched us.
At one point we were told there was a Wryneck
and a Melodious Warbler about. We went
in search of them but were unlucky.
In the afternoon we went to RSPB Lodmoor nature reserve.
The first thing was a good sighting of a Cetti’s
Warbler by some of the group, We walked
all the way round, and sae lots of birds, such as
Little Gull, Ringed Plover, Yellow Wagtail, Green Sandpiper and, last but not
least, Curlew Sandpiper. A good day’s
birding. Thank you to Richard for organising and Ray for guiding.
Number of bird species seen: 58 + Butterflies, Moths & Dragonflies
